Lesson #2: Don't give money to beggars no matter how good their story is.

I have been warned this many times, and as many times as I say I won't do it, I am still one of those people who reason using their heart instead of their brain. When I was waiting for the coach bus to take me to the Chicago airport, a man came to me asking for $4 so he could buy bus tickets for his two daughters. He was missing a tooth, had a wad of cash in his hand, and the story seemed feasible. So I gave him the money. I realized after he left that he was probably hustling me, and sure enough, as the bus rounded the corner, I saw him pulling the same story on an old lady waiting at another bus stop.

Also, I forgot that honey was technically a liquid so TSA stole my awesome gift for my host family. Oh well, I'm sure they will understand. Well, my trip is starting off kind of rocky but I was in time for my flight (2hrs early) and I'm trying to accept this as a learning experience.
